Our retained client is a PE-backed, international SaaS tech firm. Supported by a Board that’s experienced with successful investment and exit journeys, our client is on a path of extreme growth and providing a great return to its investors. Recent funding has allowed for growth at a faster rate, expanding the market share and moving into additional locations and vertical sectors.  With the ambitious expansion plans in place, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Director. This individual will be a critical influence on decision-making, while working closely with the Board and Investors, by helping contribute to their goal of becoming number one in their space across Europe and the UK.

Establishing themselves as a trusted ‘right hand’ to the Managing Director and wider organisation, the appointed Finance Director will support the business from an operational and commercial perspective over its next phase of strategic growth. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Establish themselves as an authoritative finance lead and influential member of the Board.
  • Prepare and present the Board pack, including detailed associated narrative and concise analysis suited to that of a Private Equity-backed organisation.
  • Build and develop their own working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders, including Private Equity investors, legal and banking; acting as a key contact to the Private Equity investors, attending monthly meetings.
  • Understand the key drivers within the business and manage appropriate KPIs and Management Information to support decision making and positively influence financial, commercial, and operational efficiency.
  • Play an active role in understanding commercial contracts and negotiations, supporting the wider organisation by offering sound advice and business partnering, implementing the necessary controls, and robustly challenging where required.
  • Take a proactive approach to tightly managing multi-currency treasury and cashflow to optimise working capital.
  • Support with future acquisitions leading the integration process to ensure synergies are gained and efficiencies optimised; including financial due diligence, financial modelling, forecasting etc.

The successful candidate will be a high calibre ACA-, ACCA- or CIMA-qualified accountant with a strong track record of success in either a Private Equity-backed business or within the technology sector. As a results-driven and detail-oriented individual, the Finance Director will take a strategic leadership position on the Board demonstrating the skills to influence key decisions.

In return, the position offers a high degree of autonomy, playing a pivotal role in guiding the business through upcoming expansion. There is no better time to become a strategic member of a young business, driven by a highly capable team with an impressive Board. The role will include a long-term incentive plan with equity.
