Head of Property Accounts - Real Estate. OUR CLIENT is a leading, ambitious, PropCo and Fund who focus across the UK and who are asset class agnostic within the commercial sector. They are liquid and continue to be keen to seek out acquisitions at both single asset and large portfolios level. They are now looking for a Operational Finance Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of their operations Finance function and its outputs.

THE ROLE - Will see the individual reporting directly to the CFO and carrying out numerous responsibilities including:

  • Leading the Operational finance team for the commercial property portfolio across credit control, accounts payable, service charge accounting and property accounting.
  • Preparing and overseeing Journals to enable accountants to enter client statement entries into their accounting records.
  • Managing agent support for asset and property managers, answering queries on tenants, leases, arrears and potential covenant of proposed tenants.
  • Managing audit of service charge and audit of SPV real estate vehicles.
  • Managing the reporting required for rent collection statistics and credit control operational performance.
  • Managing and reporting of all rates and utilities that are landlord's responsibility.
  • Controlling the property management database ensuring complete accuracy of all lease information, rental invoices raised and invoices processed.
  • Implementing process improvements/efficiencies Support, manage and guide the operational finance team.
  • Providing technical accounting advice to the property accountants re service charge accounting/ acquisitions and sales.
  • Financial control of all bank accounts, transactions and transactional banking relationships.
  • Providing due diligence support for new acquisitions.
  • Management of any arrears that lead to legal action.
  • Considering process and IT improvements to continually improve operational finance and managing agent support.

The PERSON - To apply you will ideally be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or QBE equivalent) and you should be a highly motivated individual with extensive experience of operating within commercial real estate, preferably within a managing agent operational finance function. The ideal person should also possess excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as having the ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities in busy periods for the company.
