We have an excellent opportunity with a fast-growing, acquisitive, PE backed UK technology group (Turnover c.£50-60m) , who are looking for a Group Financial Controller to support the Group CFO with hands-on International Group Accounting, including integrating new acquisitions in UK / Europe.

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified and will have strong financial accounting skills including exposure to international finance. Good experience of audit and some tax knowledge (not a tax specialist, but happy to liaise with business advisors on tax matters).

Ideally you will have post-qualified experience in an SME environment (Turnover < £250m) and will have worked in European / EMEA / international finance.

Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this is a very hands-on role managing 2 junior members of staff. You will liaise with finance representatives in UK / international entities and ensure that the financials are brought together at group level. The group is very acquisitive and you will play a key role in integrating the new companies.

This role will initially be "working from home"/"remote working", but the successful candidate will ideally be in commutable distance of Reading. 

You will need to be an experienced, self-starter who is able to operate in a remote-working environment.

The Role

Group Accounting

  • Supporting the Group CFO in all areas of Group Accounting (UK and Europe)
  • Manage small team and liaise with finance contacts in UK / European Subsidiaries to ensure monthly management accounts are completed to audit standard.
  • Assist with due diligence and integration of new acquisitions
  • Monthly Group Reporting
  • Half year and year-end reporting
  • Intercompany Accounting
  • Tax and Transfer Pricing
  • Liaise with other business advisors on tax / technical issues
  • Oversee all areas of finance including payroll, accruals & prepayments, bank reconciliations, fixed assets.
  • Group Accounting polices - help develop and implement strong control environment
  • Liaise with auditors 
  • Ensure continued development and improvement of Group IT system (Netsuite)

The Person

Skills and Qualifications:

  • ACA Qualified 
  • Good Systems Knowledge and experience (Netsuite)
  • International / European Accounting Experience
  • Strong Processes and procedures /controls / compliance background
