On an exclusive basis, greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a UK Management Accountant to work with a manufacturing business based in North Birmingham.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of the monthly financial close process.

Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts for UK division.

Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts and reports for group consolidation.

Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual submissions for Group reporting.

Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making, including monthly sales & margin reporting.

Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth.

Management and review of compliance with all internal control requirements, in line with Group policies.

Balance Sheet management including preparation of reconciliations to General Ledger.

Reporting and monitoring of inventory levels and inventory reconciliations including grading calculations in line with policy.

Maintenance of standard costs for inventory items.

Accounts payable management including ensuring efficient and accurate payment of suppliers.

Be main contact and manage requirements for any UK internal or external audits.

Take ownership and drive continuous improvement in processes, people and systems ensuring accuracy of all financial reporting and supporting information

Lead finance support and ensure management has a comprehensive oversight of the performance of their business areas

Key contributor towards planning, budgeting and forecasting processes to help drive business performance and ensuring all financial aspects are considered

Provide analysis and support to the local leadership team for strategic pricing proposals to ensure accuracy of proposals presented to the Business Unit Management Team for approval

Any other duties deemed appropriate within the scope of the role and in line with skills and experience.

Person Specification

Solid financial and commercial acumen.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial.

Comfortable interfacing with senior management.

Dynamic & pro-active, looking for ways to improve and contributing ideas.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).

Strong financial and cost control skills and experience of leading P&L reviews.

Strong management skills and a track record of developing teams that perform.

Technically capable accountant with experience of managing both internal and external audits.

Strong Microsoft Excel & Access skills: manipulation and analysis of data and highly competent with producing robust financial models.

Preferred Experience

Manufacturing accountancy preferable - standard costing, inventory management / reporting

Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics (not essential), but experience of using ERP systems is preferable

Experience of a Microsoft Dynamics ERP implementation would be a significant advantage
