Our retained client is a highly profitable SME which has built a strong reputation within the leisure industry across the UK and overseas. With a history of consistent and impressive achievement spanning over 20 years, our client takes pride in providing high-end, quality experiences and services to its customers.

The group has made several key strategic acquisitions to expand its portfolio and is continually diversifying its services in line with customer feedback. Its current portfolio encompasses a range of leisure complexes, all of which have received positive feedback and contribute to its overall 4* customer rating. This has resulted in an impressive track record of growth and is complimented by an enviable strength of the Balance Sheet.

The business has an desirable foundation upon which to build and enhance its success to date. This will be achieved through a targeted buy-and-build model to further complement the group and extensive ongoing investment into refurbishment and new service offerings to ensure an advantage over its competition.

A critical part in the execution of this next phase is to ensure that the right management and infrastructure is in place. It is, therefore, an opportune time to appoint a Finance Director, who can embed himself or herself as a trusted partner to the MD, contributing fresh ideas in terms of profitability, future acquisitions and maximising sales.

The appointed candidate will have a proven track record of driving profitable growth within a privately owned, ideally complex, multi sited, SME. He or she must demonstrate a ‘hands on’ approach required in an SME and be confident communicating and presenting to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Equally important will be the candidate’s overall attitude and character. The successful appointee must be aligned to the journey of the business with the hunger and drive to develop his or her career over the longer term, and the enthusiasm to continuously challenge the status quo.
