Group Accountant

We're supporting a superb manufacturing business in Worcester in the recruitment of a Group Accountant to join their business.
The successful candidate will ideally be fully qualified (ACA,/ACCA/CIMA) or be QBE with at least 5 years' experience within accounting and finance as well as experience at this level.

The role manages all aspects of inventory and cost accounting, as well as VAT and Intrastat returns for the group, and will partner with the business to provide relevant reports and information.

Key responsibilities include:

- Prepare individual entity and consolidated financial statements, supporting analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage the accounting entries for inventory, including analysis to support understanding of standard costs, variances arising, inventory valuation, provision for obsolescence, intercompany transactions and goods in transit.
- Partner with the business; provide informed reports and analyses for management and board, in line with business needs and objectives.
- Manage monthly VAT and Intrastat reporting, preparing returns for HMRC and overseas tax authorities.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and transactions across the group.
- Prepare analyses for annual Budget and monthly forecast updates, including templates for Sales team
- Provide analysis to support items in accounts and disclosures for statutory financial statements, including foreign exchange entries and reconciliations, and tax analysis.
- Liaise with auditors and provide reports/documents as required for audit purposes.
