Churchill Howard has been engaged to recruit a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Accountant for a well-established and respected Financial Services organisation in Birmingham.

Job Description

  • Implementing financial planning and analysis processes and methodologies in line with Regulatory requirements and banking best practices.
  • Preparing annual budget and rolling reforecasts; working with the Financial Reporting team to ensure that all variances (income and costs) are fully analysed, understood and documented.
  • Developing and implementing methodology for business unit profitability analysis at a fully cost absorbed level.
  • Play a role in determining and proposing range of scenarios for the Group to model. This will involve gaining an understanding of the latest annual PRA stress testing scenario and the Bank of England's Annual Stress Testing process.
  • Production of models and sensitivity analysis using Cognos TM1 Planning and Analytics
  • Coordination with Credit Risk and third parties to produce impairment forecasts for the required ICAAP, Recovery Plan scenario and sensitivities
  • Undertake analysis as required to produce a more in-depth analysis of financial information, working closely with Financial Reporting, Credit Risk and FP&A to explain and understand movements in scenario outputs.
  • Support the wider FP&A team in the production of monthly MI, analysis and commentary
  • Appraisal of projects, internal business cases and all commercial proposals.
  • Additional analysis projects as directed by the Executive Committee or CFO.

The Successful Applicant

  • CIMA/ACA/ACCA
  • Experienced FP&A Manager with significant Retail Banking or regulated financial services knowledge.
  • Proven record of communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues of all levels including Board.
  • Proven track record or leading, motivating and developing people/teams.
  • Knowledge of appropriate legislation/regulation
