The M&A Director will boast a demonstrable track record of having worked on a variety of significant M&A transactions at all stages from origination, execution to transaction closing. 
 
M&A Director Responsibilities:

  • Autonomy to lead and run deals from beginning to end;
  • Lead on the coordination of opportunity identification, assessment, deal structuring, due diligence, financial modelling, legal and regulatory approvals, and completion activity;
  • Ownership of business development - enhancing existing relationships whilst building robust new ones;
  • Management and mentoring of analysts and associates;
  • Leading client meetings and pitches; and providing strategic advice and proposals;
  • Making sure running projects are managed appropriately, with tasks delegated and reviewed where necessary;
  • Serve as a visible leader and representative across the industry.

 
 Candidate Requirements:

 

  • Degree educated to a minimum of 2:1 standard;
  • 10 years’ M&A experience from a Tier 1 bank / top boutique;
  • In depth knowledge of M&A and the ability to apply your skills creatively to diverse client needs;
  • ACA or CFA qualification a benefit, but not essential OR a qualified lawyer with experience undertaking public markets / corporate transactions;
  • Blue book deal execution experience
  • Strong technical skills and advanced numeracy;
  • Strong communication both written and verbal;
  • Self starting team player with a high degree of initiative and an ability to excel in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment; 
  • Demonstrable aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis; 
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills;
  • Strong attention to detail, leadership skills and work ethic.
