Finance Manager
Liverpool City Centre
£47,000 - £52,000
A large business based in Liverpool City Centre is currently recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to join their growing business.
You will be responsible for managing a team of 4 newly qualified management accounts and the purpose of the role is to oversee the continuous improvement of financial management information to the Directors and Operations Management.
You will be supporting the Commercial Finance Team & Head of Financial Reporting in the production of the annual Budget, Strategy Review and other long term business forecasts, whilst supporting the consolidation process.
As Finance Manager your role will involve:
- Leading a team of 4 qualified management accountants
- Oversee preparation and distribution of periodic Management Accounts packs including detailed Board packs, group reporting packs, profit and loss accounts, periodic Performance Summaries and KPIs to strict monthly timetables. Ensuring accuracy.
- Continually monitor, challenge, review and amend as necessary all accounting entries and methodologies to ensure that the periodic accounting process is continually improved and meets the needs of the business.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly accruals, prepayments and provisions in relation to overheads for the management accounts to strict monthly timetables
- Ensure cost allocation basis for delivery support costs are constantly reviewed and accurately applied each period
- Oversee and contribute to the periodic reconciliation of designated balance sheet accounts with documentary evidence and calculations to support all balances. This includes the formal review and sign-off of reconciliations produced by the management accounting team.
- Confidently communicate the Period End results to the wider finance function
- Support the team in monthly P&L reviews with operations
- Supports the Commercial Finance team in the production of the annual Budget, Strategy Review and other long term business forecasts.
To apply for the role you must:
- Be CIMA /ACCA / ACA qualified - at least 2 years PQE
- Have experience of managing a small team of qualified accountants
- Have experience of working in a fast paced, high volume role with multiple cost centres
- Have strong forecasting experience
- Be comfortable with process and financial reporting improvements
