The Assistant Accountant Role

This role has been newly created due to immediate growth, to support the Group Finance Manager and have a real input into the production of the monthly management accounts.

The role will mainly consist of;

• Ensuring the day to day and long-term compliance of financial procedures
• Period end routines in line with business expectations
• Producing site P&L line analysis on a period basis
• Balance sheet reconciliation for all account cost lines on a monthly basis
• Managing and responding to site queries on a daily and monthly basis
• Management of key cost lines, including but not limited to accruals and prepayments
• Input to forecasting and management of the budget process
• Business partnering across the operating divisions and wider business to ensure sound financial understanding through the production of accurate accounts.
   

Skills Required

• Solid accounts experience is essential, at least 4 years’ experience
• Credit control experience essential
• Good written and verbal commination
• A friendly, grounded and trustworthy individual
• Fully competent with outlook & excel
• CRB checks will need to be complete

The business has an office support team and are in the process of recruiting for a Finance Apprentice to manage the transactional accounting & be appointed just after this role (Jan 2022 start date)

Therefore, you will enjoy taking on more month-end and project responsibilities and being less bogged down with the day-to-day purchase and sales ledgers.
