Financial Risk and Treasury Accountant

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Location: Hull

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified/finalist level ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant keen on joining a forward thinking, high profile organisation based in Hull. Candidates should have broad based accountancy skills. Flexible/hybrid working is an option, salary may be negotiable and an excellent benefits package is available along with specific training into the areas of risk, treasury and hedging.

THE ROLE:
*Oversees the operation of the company's bank facilities and act as the primary liaison with the Group Treasury Department of the company's parent group
*Responsible for ensuring that all treasury activities (including any authorised use of swaps, hedges and banking transactions) are properly performed in a timely and effective manner in accordance with the business and its parent group's treasury management policies.
*Ownership of the company's risk register and support senior management with the development of the business' enterprise risk management policies. They will own the procedures and control frameworks around trading and treasury activities, including hedge accounting, whilst maintaining responsibility for the business' trade capture tool that is used monitor the company's commodity positions on a real-time basis.
*The Financial Risk and Treasury Accountant will act as the main day-to-day contact point with the front office traders and will work closely with the Commercial team, to produce, analyse and report position data and risk limits
*They will be responsible for middle and back office activities for all physical and derivative commodity trades and They will be expected to advise senior management on foreign exchange risk exposures and limits and assist in the execution of FX trades.
*They will also be responsible for organising and coordinating the Financial Risk Committee where they will also report on the company's risk exposures and mitigations.

THE CANDIDATE:
*You may be a newly qualified accountant, perhaps 1-2 years post qualified or at part qualified finalist level ACA/ACCA/CIMA and looking to join an extremely forward thinking high profile organisation
*Ideally educated to degree level (although not essential) you have excellent inter-personal and communication skills at all levels and strong technical competence in broad based accountancy skills
*Preferably you will already have an understanding of risk and hedging concepts although training will be provided in this niche area of finance

BENEFITS:
£40,000 - £50,000 (negotiable) dependent upon background, experience, and level of qualification. An extra 10% of salary is available for a choice of benefits + 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + flexible/some hybrid working is available.
