Financial Controller

Financial Controller required for an established construction business based in Staffordshire. Reporting to the Finance Director and leading a small team you will be responsible for the following:

- Production of management accounts and analysis to support the management team with general understanding and decision making
- Prepare financial analysis to support key business decisions such as projects & capex
- Preparation of business plan, budget and forecasts to meet Group requirements
- Completion of monthly WIP schedules for bank funding
- Doing regular balance sheet audits/checks to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Lead continuous improvements on key systems
- Ensuring processes and procedures are up to date, adhered to and fit for purpose
- Authorisation of payments (payroll/subcon/purchase ledger)
- Ensuring full HMRC compliance
- Manage the annual audit, planning preparation for the audit and liaising with the auditors as required.
- Sign off monthly VAT returns
- Additional ad-hoc work
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ ACMA or equivalent) with significant experience at Financial Controller level. You will have worked within the construction sector or project led environment.
