Assistant Accountant

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with fast paced and growing manufacturing business located towards Mansfield who are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis.

Due to continued and sustained company growth there is a need to recruit an Assistant Accountant into their established and successful Finance team working closely with senior management and operations.

This opportunity will ideally suit an ambitious and driven individual who is a recent graduate or experience in a similar position.

The role will provide financial information and analysis to track business performance and assist in decision making, as well as assisting the Financial Controller in the day-to-day running of the finance function.

Main duties and responsibilities:
*Assist in the monthly Management Accounts process
*Transaction Processing (eg. Journal Posting, Accruals/Prepayments)
*Preparation of daily sales, margin and cash reports
*Statutory returns (VAT etc)
*Bank Reconciliations (inc. Petty Cash and Company Credit Cards)
*Balance Sheet Reconciliations
*Assist in the annual statutory audit
*Adhoc reporting and project work

Person specification:
*Relevant degree/experience
*Started/looking to start professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA)
*Strong MS Excel skills
*Analytical with the ability to interpret financial data
*Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
*Demonstrates drive and positive approach to work and a determination and motivation to achieve targets
