Preston, Lancashire - Hybrid working may be considered

£40,000 per annum

A group of wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists formed our client's Trust in 1962.  Since then they have grown into one of the largest Trusts with a membership of nearly 30,000, over 40 reserves, around 190 staff and more than 1000 active volunteers, including a strong and capable board of Trustees.

They are seeking a professional, qualified and versatile finance professional to support senior management and Trustees with regular financial reporting and analysis of the Trusts activity and performance on a timely basis.

Reporting to the CEO, you will provide financial direction and oversight across the Trust. This is a varied role which will include cash flow management, the preparation of accounts on a monthly and annual basis, financial planning, budgeting, reporting and preparing  statutory accounts for audit, VAT and compliance management.  You will have a ‘hands on’ approach when assisting and managing the team and will provide clear financial leadership that embodies the Trust’s core values.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to multi-task and be able to handle a varied workload, ranging from cash flow management, preparing accounts on a monthly and annual basis, financial planning, budgeting, reporting and preparing statutory accounts for audit, VAT and compliance management.

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate resilience and will have the ability to adapt to changing business priorities in a responsive manner. The role is suited to an experienced finance professional with a ‘can-do’ attitude, and able to make a positive impact from day one.  The candidate should be comfortable achieving deadlines on a regular basis and as the day to day nature of the role will require attention to detail, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a meticulous and logical approach.  They will have a ‘hands on’ approach when assisting and managing the team.

Experience in charity accounting would be a distinct advantage but a good financial & systems background at a senior level would be essential

If you are passionate about nature and are inspired to create a wilder future for the wildlife and people of Lancashire, Greater Manchester and North Merseyside, they’d love to hear from you.
