Finance Director

This is a very hands on role where you will be responsible for the full day to day running of the small finance function.

My client is a small charity that is part of a much larger Group.

Based in Cardiff but covering a large geographical area.

Description

Reporting to the Director, the Finance Director is responsible for the day to day running of the finance function.

Strategic management of the charity's resources. and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team
The role will include (but not restricted to);

*Leadership and management of the day to day operations of the Finance & Resources team
*Responsibility for Annual Report and Accounts to comply with Accountancy Practice, Company and Charity Law
*Ensuring adequate accounting records are kept and appropriately managed and reconciled
*Design and delivery of quarterly financial information and budget advice to Board of Trustees at Board meetings and other
*Responsibility for the Gift Aid and Gift Aid Small Donation scheme processes
*Overseeing the pensions and payroll processes ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
*Management of the Capital funding projects in conjunction with Welsh Government
*Management of the financial requirements for the repairs and maintenance programme
*Promotion of strong relationships with stakeholders across the charity
*Working with external audit team on statutory annual audit
*Development and implementation of the finance training programme
*Resource development to support trustees with financial matters

Profile

You will be a qualified Accountant holding ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA

Ideally you will have Charity Accounting experience, although this is not essential.

You will be a hands on Accountant and be able to work both strategically and producing annual accounts

You will have excellent stakeholder engagement skills.

Good systems skills

An ongoing temporary assignment. Potential for T2P for the right person

Salary c£230 - £300 per day

Hybrid working

Potential for 4 days a week working
