Accountancy Recruit is partnering a rapidly growing employee-owned SME on the outskirts of Stockport to appoint a Finance Analyst/Business Partner. The role would suit a Financial Analyst, Commercial Analyst or Finance Business Partner who is keen to progress and ultimately move into a Head of Commercial Finance type role. As with most SME's this a broad role and will present the opportunity to develop skills and wear many hats! The Finance Analyst position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain forecasts, budgets and plans.
  • Prepare P&L and Balance Sheet forecasts.
  • Prepare daily cashflow forecasts.
  • Prepare buying forecasts and assist purchasing with managing purchase orders and improvement to the purchase order process.
  • Business partner wider business, contribute to pricing decisions to ensure commercial viability.
  • Produce analysis and highlight areas for improvement on costs across the business.
  • Attend and contribute to weekly leadership meetings.
  • Provide cover for payroll as and when required.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes across end to end finance.

To be successful in this role the Finance Analyst will have the following experience:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or qualified by experience.
  • Solid systems experience and the ability to automate processes. Advanced Excel, Google Sheets.
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage Payroll beneficial.
  • Experience of building reports and analysing trends and interpreting data.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement and ability to map processes and implement new, improved processes.


The salary advertised for this role is a guideline and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
