Operations Accountant

Accountancy Recruit is partnering with a large, FMCG client in Manchester to appoint an Operations Accountant. The role would suit a Management Accountant, Cost Accountant or Financial Accountant with strong business partnering skills and a track record of dealing with operational costs and helping drive efficiencies within operations. The Operations Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

• Produce accurate reporting on various costs relating to production and labour
• Producing analysis on production variances.
• Analysing material usage and price variances and making recommendations.
• Improving business processes and developing reporting using SAP.
• Producing analysis on labour usage and overheads.
• Business partner with operations to support product costing and quotations.
• Providing recommendations for savings from analysis around supply chain costs.
• Developing supply chain and manufacturing KPI's to drive efficiency.
• Assisting in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan and Strategic Plans.
• Conducting Capital Investment Appraisals.
• Reviewing the foreign exchange process and analysing FX Gains & Losses.

To be successful in this role the Operations Accountant will have the following experience:

• Qualified finance professional CIMA or ACCA.
• Experienced user of SAP within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel.
• Mindset of continuous improvement.
