Financial Controller for a business based in Coventry. Salary upto £65000 plus car and bonus

Your new company
Hays are delighted to be supporting a growing services related business based in Coventry who are part of a larger European Group. The company are market leaders in their field and as such are looking to recruit a UK Business Controller.

Your new role
You will report directly into the UK Country Manager and be responsible for the financial direction of the UK entity which has a T/O of circa £50 million. The role has a dotted line into the European SSC and finance function. The day to day financial accounting is done by the SSC so this role is a operational role supporting the direction of the UK business. The key duties of the role are ensure that the UK Management team have full financial and analytical support to manage the business.

Key deliverables are ensuring that there is a seamless flow of financial information to group whilst still ensuring that the sales invoicing and credit control is looked after at a local level. The role will involve the management of 2 members of the UK finance team.

You will be responsible Management of cash and working capital, capex control, profitability projects and supporting improvements. The role does not deal with day to day financial accounting but you will need to liaise with the SSC to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting. This is a business facing role and requires someone who has excellent business partnering skills and who can work to improve process and efficiencies. Strong systems knowledge including advanced excel are essential for the role. You will also form part of the UK senior leadership team and be comfortable working at board level in the UK an presenting information to non finance stakeholders.


What you'll need to succeed
The role is looking for a fully Qualified Accountant who has excellent experience in a commercial role. This is a number one role on site and will need someone with a can do attitude and who is looking to develop systems and process. The role is not a technically focussed role but you will still need to be strong in delivering accurate and timely numbers to group. The ideal candidate will be used to working in a very hands on and busy environment.
