Xylotek seeks a Financial Controller to develop a top-class finance function that provides effective business decision support and ensures compliance with all required legal, tax and reporting requirements.

Who we are looking for:

A highly capable finance professional looking for an exciting challenge. You will work with the Finance Director to develop the business’s financial management and reporting processes and resources.

You will:

· Be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent).

· Someone who wants to take on day-to-day responsibility for managing and developing the finance function and the information that it produces.

· A team player who can communicate with non-financial colleagues.

· Someone who thinks about financial risks and how to implement processes to control these.

· Possess strong MS Excel and IT skills.

· 7+ years’ experience in financial management or accounting roles working with another organisation.

· An interest and, preferably, experience of working in the construction, architecture or building design industries.

Summary of role requirements:

· Develop accounting policies and analysis to clearly show the financial position of projects and the business as a whole.

· Produce monthly Management Accounts and reports that clearly state the financial position of the business covering Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow.

· Work with project managers to maintain accurate and up-to-date reports that track actual and forecast project profit performance and cash-flow.

· Control cashflow through update of cashflow forecasts and management of bank accounts.

· Develop processes and reports that show performance indicators, trends in business performance and implement required financial controls.

· Ensure that the accounting system is up-to-date and that regular reconciliations are performed.

· Work with others to maintain and report CIS records to HMRC.

· Complete and submit regular VAT returns. Act as main point-of-communication with HMRC for all VAT matters.

· Work with external accountants to prepare and file the annual financial statements and corporation tax return.
