12 months FTC

£40,000 - £45,000 + benefits

Join this leading manufacturing business in Leeds who are looking to bring on board a Commercial Accountant on a 12 months FTC basis. This business have truly innovative products, and it is exciting times to join their journey. The role may turn permanent further down the line.

In the role, you will support the Commercial Finance team by providing both a robust control environment for the commercial team to operate in, and support our customers and the wider business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provision of standard monthly reports and ad hoc analysis highlighting issues/variances, which require action in order to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • Providing timely, accurate and value adding analysis to enable monitoring of financial performance
  • Manage the monthly cycle, keeping the team aware of key dates, tasks and deadlines across the month, and the Senior FBP up to date on progress and upcoming deadlines
  • Responsibility and ownership for completing monthly checks and cuts of systems data, updating reporting from this that the business uses to review performance and forecasts
  • Business partner with the commercial team account managers through proactive management of fixed cost trackers and conduct regular review meetings to understand present and future activity spend.
  • Communicating these back to the Senior FBP and updating future forecasts accordingly
  • Produce standard monthly reports and presentations (excel and powerpoint) for the team to an agreed format and timeframe which monitor performance against Budget / Latest Forecast and highlight variances which require action.
  • Support the Senior FBP in the preparation of quarterly promotional pre-evaluation and post-evaluation reviews, and recommendations for changes to future plans
  • Produce ad hoc reporting to support current business challenges, with a focus on simplicity and clarity of information provided.

Skills & Experience:

  • CIMA /ACCA / ACA qualified or working towards this
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work under self-management
  • Intermediate excel and ability to manage volume of data
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong completer finisher
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • Ability to switch between big picture and detailed analysis.
