Financial Accountant

About the role:

A well-established children's charity are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their Financial Accounting & Control Team. This is a fantastic, varied permanent opportunity offering hybrid working and the chance to prosper as you support the Financial Accounting & Control Manager with effectively delivering tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working with the Financial Accounting & Control Manager to implement, enforce and monitor internal control procedures, performing relevant tasks in relation to this such as reviewing journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting the Financial Accounting & Control Manager in the delivery of the Annual Report & Accounts, including meeting the requirements of the external auditors
• Preparing quarterly VAT returns and overseeing tax compliance within the organisation
• Monitoring and forecasting cash flow and maintaining appropriate treasury management procedures and controls
• Reviewing fixed asset reconciliations and reporting, and monitoring the accuracy of the fixed asset register

The successful candidate will:

• Be a newly qualified accountant, ex auditor or experience of working in a complex organisation
• Have solid experience in relation to the key responsibilities of this role and be able to evidence this
• Be passionate about working for a children's charity
• Be ambitious, hardworking and able to meet tight deadlines to a high standard
• Have excellent communication skills, able to convey complex financial information to a wide range of stakeholders
