To manage their exponential growth, they have created a new role of Senior Finance Analyst. As the Senior Finance Analyst working within the finance department you will be responsible for management accounting and commercial analysis.

MA responsibilities:

  • Creation, maintenance and reporting of monthly management information and forecasting to both the company and group.
  • Monthly reporting on variances, variances analysis to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Identifying cost differences and drivers. Challenge what the reports are showing in terms of business performance and look for data trends/emerging issues that need raising with department directors and heads.
  • Administer and develop existing business finance reporting and forecasting.
  • Bethe main contact point for the business finance reporting for contributors and users, build confidence throughout the business in the reports.

Analyst responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for developing insightful analysis to support revenue and resource reporting and working closely with various Operational stakeholders.
  • To work closely with the Finance, Client Services, Business development and Operations departments help guide reporting and automate solutions where required.
  • Communicate and engage with BI users across the business, responding to queries, resolving issues and offering support to BI users, building confidence in the tools and consolidating the reputation of the team as a centre of excellence for BI and reporting.
  • Tracking revenue performance vs budget, forecast and KPIs.
  • Developing reports and tracking movements. Playing a key role for identifying opportunities to improve and develop the company’s BI and reporting functionality to improve efficiency, accuracy and relevance of reporting.
  • Manage data structure, validation and reconciliation for live BI dashboards to ensure accuracy of reported information.
  • Design, develop, build, and present reports to agreed timescales and frequency that aid decision making.
  • Be the key lead on automation projects that simplify and improve our reporting and forecasting processes further. Leverage Office365 tools such as Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint to make processes slicker, reporting more insightful, and to create time for fuller performance analysis.

You will also have a great amount of autonomy to shape the role and make a real difference to the team and wider business unit.

This role would suit Commercial Management Accountants or Finance Analysts who are either newly qualified, qualified by experience or in the final stages of a professional accountancy qualification, e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA. The location is currently flexible (home or office) but we would expect the successful candidate to be based where they are most effective in the delivery of the role. The role will work closely with the Finance Manager reporting into the FD with management reporting, and the wider business with commercial analysis.

Key requirements for the role:

  • Capable of managing multiple tasks to a high standard for senior stakeholders and engage resource across the business and finance to deliver work to tight deadlines
  • Good awareness of both P&L and Cashflow
  • Ability to manage own workload and work alone or as part of a project team.
  • A good grasp of financial modelling would be advantage.
  • Have a great computer literacy, including strong MS Excel, Power Query and Power BI (preferred but not essential)
  • Proactive and positive attitude towards work, capable of working collaboratively and creatively
  • Confident communication with a proven track record working with varied stakeholders and building professional relationships
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining models, and analysing data
  • Strong desire to develop a rich understanding of the business
