Role Title:Assistant Commercial Accountant
£24,000-£25,000 - Birmingham - Hybrid Working
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Production of accounts, budgets, forecasts and related financial information and for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial ledgers, maintaining positive business partnerships with internal stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
*To process and reconcile journal inputs into the monthly management accounts, including revenue, indirect costs, capital postings and direct cost adjustments.
*Support the Commercial Finance Manager and Commercial Accountant with production of forecasts, budgets and monthly reporting.
*To support business decision making through provision of timely and accurate financial information
*Assist the Commercial Finance Manager and Commercial Accountant in ensuring all aspects of financial control are adhered to.
*Participation in ad hoc projects as required.
*Work closely with the Group Banking & Treasury team to understand Group cash discrepancies and follow these up with managers (expected to diminish as we move to being 100% cashless).
*To liaise effectively with internal customers to create positive business partnerships
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
*Ideally working towards a accounting qualification, including but not limited to AAT, CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA etc.
*The role requires computer literacy, competent in Microsoft Excel and the use of databases, good standard of English language both written and verbal
*Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills together with an attention to detail
*Confident, assertive, and well-mannered in dealing with both Internal and External customers and colleague
*Work on own initiative and have the ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
*Self-motivation, determination, and confidence in your abilities
*Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
*Meticulous attention to detail, rigorous and tenacious
*Excellent problem-solving skills and evaluative skills
*Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure in a constantly changing environment
*Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
*Good presentation and report writing skills
*Structured and well organised
*Previous experience in similar role is desirable yet not essential
