Group Reporting Accountant

Leeds based office with home working - find a working pattern to suit you!

Reporting to the Group Financial Reporting Manager, this role has been newly created to provide technical expertise of group accounting and tax matters. The role will prepare consolidated group results and financial statements for a leading business in the leisure industry.

The role

  • Responsible for preparation of non-trading company financial accounts on a monthly basis
  • Consolidation of business unit financial submissions to deliver a Group P&L, BS and Cashflow on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of quarterly results release and management of any associated interim review workstreams
  • Produce year-end statutory accounts for UK entities and liaison with group auditors across the territories
  • Management of group audit process and associated high level subjective areas
  • Providing technical accounting expertise for the Group, liaising with professional advisors regarding accounting standards and compliance obligations
  • Management of M&A accounting requirements
  • Ensure that latest IFRS requirements are understood across the business units, and lead on any key accounting changes (e. lease accounting entries)
  • Management of all UK corporation tax calculations and submissions including capital allowance claims, leading liaison with 3 rd party advisors for these
  • Provide support to Group FC and CFO on variety of other projects.

The requirements

  • ACA accountant (preferably big 4 or top 10) with a strong technical ability
  • Detailed working knowledge of IFRS16 (leases) and IFRS3 (Business Combinations) essential
  • Hands on attitude and excellent work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines with demonstrable organisational skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience with large multinational businesses including listed businesses is desirable
  • Experience of transaction accounting (acquisition and consolidation)
  • Can demonstrate the potential to take on a range of other group projects and activities as they grow and develop in the role
