Construction Accountant (PH)

Our client is an AIM listed international services group that owns essential services businesses in the UK and on a global remit.  They wish to appoint an experienced Construction Accountant will provide financial leadership and management of construction contracts based in the Falkland Islands in line with current accounting standards to ensure that profit is maximised. 

Main Accountabilities for the Construction Accountant will be:

• Prepare & maintain timely & accurate financial statements for construction projects in line with IFRS15
• Drive process improvements & solve problems to route cause
• Review costs and profitability of each construction contract and investigate variances against budget
• Provide financial support to other operational areas of the business and support the finance team
• Maintain accounting records relating to construction projects, which comply with statutory and Company requirements.
• Responsible for the provision of accurate and timely company financial forecasting information in conjunction with FD.
• Responsible for producing a monthly report on the financial position of contracts.
• Responsible for identifying and reporting any cost overspends on contracts.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining financial control systems on construction contracts.
• Advise the Board of any financial implications of any activity.

The Successful Candidate will be:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and/or finance
• ACMA or ACCA qualified
• 3 to 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Construction experience – either housebuilding, main contracting or other real estate projects such as hotels
• IFRS15 experience
