Your new firm
A well established and highly reputable independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Greater Manchester are currently seeking an Technical Audit Director to join their senior leadership team. This is a newly created job opportunity to support an influx of new work and ensure the firm are meeting all ICAEW practice and the firm's high technical standards they hold themselves to.

Your new role
As a technical audit director / partner you will operate as the firm's ethics partner and anti-money laundering officer responsible for performing hot file reviews on high risk audit engagements, hot review the accounts of audit clients and cold file reviews on the remaining of the firm's audit engagement. Due to the technical and compliance nature of this role this will be an internal facing role with no client responsibilities.

You will also be the firm's representative with the ICAEW - managing annual compliance reviews, Managing QAD monitoring and assurance visits and ensuring all staff are completing their CPD requirements. You'll be an internal support to the corporate services team, providing technical support by sharing the latest updates as well as ad hoc advice on a case by case basis.

You'll constantly assess the firm's processes and procedures, identifying any operational efficiencies which can be made and implementing new ideas to improve resource and workflow management and also research and implement any technological advances which will improve the audit process.


What you'll need to succeed
Dependent on the level of experience of the individual the firm can appoint either an audit director or partner. In this role the firm is seeking a technically astute ACA qualified director / senior manager who has ideally attained their RI status or has the relevant level of PQE and audit exposure. You must have experience of acting as the firm's liaison with ICAEW practice compliance matters and ideally have conducted hot file reviews. The firm's portfolio contains a large portfolio group structures, entrepreneurial businesses and international companies who have requirements such as funding requirements and preparing for MBOs or the sale of the business and with this the partners are seeking an individual who has worked within the Top 10 or a mid tier / regional practice.
