Financial Accountant

Leading Chester business is looking for a newly qualified ACA Accountant from Practice.


Hays Senior Finance are working with a long standing client in the Chester area as they look to recruit a recently qualified accountant from Practice. This national business has a regional structure with multiple entities. All accounts are centralised in the head office which is modern, open plan and has free parking. This business has been a dominant player in the sector for many years and has grown significantly in the last few years following a number of acquisitions.

Your new role
As Financial Accountant you will report directly to the Financial Controller who has been in the business for over five years and was originally Practice trained. The role is broad but you will be responsible for the production of statutory accounts and tax computations for the Group. Other key duties will include -

• Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Report and Half -Yearly report for including consolidation adjustments
• Production of consolidated Group Accounts at both Full-Year and Interim stages for review by the Finance Director
• Prepare the subsidiary statutory accounts for review
• Liaise with the Auditors
• Work with the Tax team on Corporation Tax Returns and produce tax computations
• Assist in the consolidation of monthly management accounts for Group Reporting

This role is ideal for a qualified accountant moving out of Practice who has a solid understanding of technical accounting and wishes to use this in a hands on role. The finance department has at least 30 staff and there are also a number of other accountants at various sites across the country. There is a lot of scope for development in this role and the business has a history of promoting from within. They are a flexible employer who offer up to three days working from home as well as flexible working patterns to suit family life.
