Management Accountant

A Social Investment company who are impressive, and demonstrate their desire to make change for the good, are seeking an interim Management Accountant. You will join and support the Head of Finance for 3-4 months whilst they ensure there is a thorough handover from one permanent person to a new hire due to start in 2022. The current person has taken a role internally and therefore will be available to ask questions and support you.

This position will start on a temporary basis for 3 months and be paid as either a fixed term salary of c£60,000 or the equivalent day rate. They offer flexible working and tend to work from home 4 days a week and have 1 day in the office. The office is based North West of London.

You will be responsible for producing management accounts and ensuring that the day-to-day finance processes run smoothly. Key responsibilities include:

• Production of monthly management accounts
• VAT returns
• Assisting with the preparation of a monthly Board reports
• Journals for accruals and prepayments,
• Preparation of internal and external reports
• Balance sheet reconciliation's
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
• Ensuring invoices are allocated correctly
• Ad-hoc project work to help with a transition to a new finance system. They will start parallel running from their current system (Sage) in early 2022

Skills & Experience

You will need to be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with management accounting experience from industry.  As an SME you will have a varied task list and will need to understand end to end accounting, especially as their processes and systems are currently more manual. 

You will also be a confident communicator who is able to liaise with stakeholders at all levels and have a can-do attitude.
