An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join a Big 4 Deal Modelling Team.

This team focuses on the application of leading edge modelling and analytical techniques to help clients make decisions and solves problems. They work on some of the most high profile deals in the market, across a wide range of clients and sectors.

You will be a newly qualified accountant, looking for a challenge in deals with a specific focus on financial modelling. If you are naturally inquisitive, have an analytical mind and enjoy solving problems, for a variety of different businesses then this is the role for you.

Every assignment is different, but broadly their offerings fall under two key headings

Deal Modelling - increasing the confidence in the deal by developing operational and financial models, or by providing model assurance for some of the largest transactions and restructuring in the marketplace.

Deal Analytics - provide quantitative insights in the deal process e. into customer behaviours, marketing effectiveness and sales

Post Deal - driving performance transparency (reporting, strategic planning and cash forecasting) and value creation to support investment through a technology enabled approach e. margin optimisation, operational effectiveness, and strategic options

Duties include:

  • You will be supporting a broad range of projects, with a specific focus on financial modelling, and you could be working with CEO's, CFO's, FTSE listed and PE backed businesses
  • Build a financial model to support our client at various stages of the deals cycle;
  • Clear and concise communication of complex concepts and their business benefits to senior management (both internally and externally) from a range of backgrounds and business areas to help clients make robust, evidence based decisions
  • Design a short term cash flow model to help our client to actively manage liquidity
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams directly with our clients to use financial modelling
  • Improve clarity and transparency for investors by developing a driver based integrated model;
  • Identify and forecast restructuring options, and critically assess key risks and sensitivities;
  • Support investors secure their funding needs on a high profile acquisition
  • Your responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:
  • Connecting the dots from disparate information streams (e. extracts from client system, management reports, contract) and turning them into structured data that can be analysed as part of a Deal or restructuring process to provide greater insight to our clients;
  • Drafting reports and presentations and using data visualisation to explain our findings
  • Supporting the team to develop and pitch for opportunities

You will be

  • To be successful in this role, you will also need to demonstrate the following:
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent (time and exam qualified)
  • Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude, possess both financial and commercial acumen and enjoy problem solving
  • Have an entrepreneurial mind set and self-starter mentality
  • The ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, self-review your work A strong desire to acquire and share technical knowledge with colleagues and clients
  • Passion for technology and new tools
  • The ability to build collaborative working relationships at all levels
