Hays Accountancy and Finance are pleased to be working with a well established and reputable organisation that has subsidiaries across logistics, warehousing, distribution and other services within the food and drink industry. Due to a period of sustained growth, they are now looking to onboard a permanent Assistant Management Accountant to their team on a full time basis.

Your new role
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant you will be responsible for producing the daily, weekly and monthly finance reporting to a review level.

- Production of the weekly costing for a number of customer contracts
- Preparation of the Management Accountants
- Investigate variances within the Management Accounts
- Reconcile and prepare monthly balance sheets
- Annual budget reviews
- Invoice and Credit Control customers
- Supplier invoices
- Ad-hoc reporting
- Accruals
- Pre-payments

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, the successful candidate will be part way through an Accountancy and Finance qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or ACA). You will be highly attentive to detail and accurate in your work in order to produce work to a high standard. A strong understanding of Excel systems would be preferred for the role however some training can be provided. It is essential that you are able to work excellently within a team whilst still being able to use your own initiative. Previous experience within a similar finance position, ideally with involvement with journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and income matching knowledge.
