Based near Bury St Edmunds, our client is looking for a hands-on financial controller to join their team as Group Financial Controller.

This job would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with at least 5 years post qualified experience.

The successful individual will have excellent IT skills with a high level of proficiency in Excel. They will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. You will need a high level of personal responsibility to own your role and get it done.

Job responsibilities:

Managing a small team of part qualified accountantsPreparation of monthly management accounts at both individual entity and group consolidated level. This will include key balance sheet and P&L analysis and identifying discrepancies and trends. You will also prepare KPI reports, board packs and other ad hoc reports where neededGoverning our accounting systems and ledgersReviewing and finalising our VAT returnsManaging the payroll function for our 3 UK entitiesOther statutory returns such as P11Ds, ERS filings, and confirmation statementsManaging payments to suppliers and employeesEnsuring that internal controls and processes are robust and followedProcessing and recording invoices, credit card transactions and bank transactionsAssisting with planning, budgeting and forecastingTaking a lead on our annual audit process.
