Job Summary:
The group has regional offices located in UK and Europe. Working as part of the European Finance team (based in the UK) this role will be responsible for producing and interpreting financial and non-financial information for designated areas of the business to ensure management understanding of trading performance.
To deliver concise, targeted and relevant information to management highlighting key areas of opportunity or risk.
To ensure the information is completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with accounting standards, company policy, procedures and deadlines.
To support the European Finance Team and European Senior Management with information as required.
Primary Responsibilities and Job Requirements (other duties and projects may be assigned):
For designated areas of responsibility all the following must be performed in line with the current standard operating practices of the company:
- To work as part of a team to produce accurate financial information, this includes management accounts, budgets, forecasts, cashflow forecasts, balance sheet reconciliations, and other key financial analysis and reports. All information must be produced in accordance with the relevant accounting standards or Company policy, procedures and deadlines
- Business Partnering within designated areas of responsibility to highlight areas of potential efficiency improvements or potential current or future risk to management.
- Responsible for completion and record keeping for VAT.
- To provide information for statutory purposes and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.
- To provide cover for or assistance to other members of the European Finance Team as required.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Essential:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to summarize data.
- Working knowledge of current accounting standards and financial legislative requirements affecting accurate production of financial management information.
- Integrity and reliability, flexible and open to change.
Ability to work with accuracy to deadlines. - Strong communication skills at all levels including to non-financial managers.
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP systems and Business Intelligence tools. Sage 300/AccPac and E-Analytics would be preferred.
- Manufacturing accounting experience.
- Prior experience with multi-national companies, exposure to multi-currency operations and VAT.
- European language skills an advantage.
Extra Notes:
- Travel within Europe will be required for this position.
- Work on a bank holiday will be required on a rotational basis within the team, with time off in lieu
- The role must at all times maintain independence and integrity particularly with regard to financial policies, procedures and external standards and regulations.
- Over time there will be changes to the objectives for this position and they will be added through catch up sessions and appraisal led by the Financial Controller Europe.
