Financial Analyst

A financial planning analyst position with a FTSE250 UK building society.

They are a specialist lender and retail savings group. Primarily targeting mortgage market sub-sectors including buy to let, complex commercial and semi-commercial, development finance, residential lending (including Help to Buy and shared ownership), bridging and asset finance.

This role offers the flexibility to work from home 2 or 3 days per week!

This role will be suitable for someone who already has experience in a finance analyst role.

Responsibilities of financial planning analyst:

• Prepare and distribute accurate and insightful monthly cost reporting at cost centre and project code level.
• Provide cost management support to the Group's functions including budgeting, monitoring actual spend and ad-hoc cost analysis.
• Take an active role in the opex forecast/budget process for the Group, producing and consolidating budget cost templates with Executives.
• Develop detailed understanding of each department's budgets and drivers of any key variances and establish controls to ensure the robustness of the cost planning process.
• Assist both Financial Planning & Analysis Managers, providing backup cover when required, in the compilation of the weekly and monthly Group management accounts for senior management.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year experience in a financial analyst role - budgeting and forecasting experience is essential
• Must live within a commutable distance to Kent
• You must be able to work collaboratively within a small team
