Elevation Accountancy and Finance are pleased to be partnering exclusively with a manufacturing business based in Sheffield to recruit a Group Management Accountant on an initial 6 month contract.

As Group Management Accountant you will be joining the central finance team during a period of change and so there may be an opportunity for this to become a permanent post in time.

The Group Management Accountant will be responsible for accurate recording and reporting of the financial transactions for the group's head office entities. This role will primarily be home based with occasional travel to the Sheffield office and as a business-critical role it is imperative that the successful Group Accountant is self motivated, able to manage their own workload and prioritise tasks. A strong management reporting background and effective communication skills are also essential.

Key Responsibilities of the Group Management Accountant will include:

* Ensuring all general ledger entries for the Head Office entities are recorded correctly and accurately with appropriate reconciliations
* Preparation and timely submission of Management Accounts and reports
* Management of Group VAT reporting
* Control of monthly Group-wide intercompany balance reconciliation process investigating and resolving any discrepancies with corresponding entities
* Assisting the central finance team in producing accurate forecasts and budgets
* Co-ordinating external audits of the head office entities
* Processing and approval of payroll and purchase ledger payments across the group
* Supporting the business in developing and monitoring business appropriate systems and procedures
* Ad hoc work as required

Key Skills required:

* CIMA, ACA, ACCA qualification or QBE
* Experience of preparation of management accounts and management reporting
* Proactive attitude and able to work under own initiative
* Strong communicator
* Advanced system skills (ERP's, Excel, Word)
* Outstanding planning and organisation skills and attention to detail
* Analytical thinking
* Excellent time management skills

This is an urgent requirement to start November 2021 and allow for a handover, therefore interested candidates must be available to start at short notice.
