Accountancy Recruit has partnered with a successful software design and service company based in Letchworth, to recruit an Accounts and Credit Manager to be responsible for the accounts and credit control functions of the company, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Duties will include:
- Overseeing the purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring that data is accurate to feed into the month end accounts
- Closing month end accounts and reconciliations for presentation to the external accountants
- Calculation of VAT and submission of VAT and PAYE returns.
- Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Sole charge responsibility for the credit control function: chasing outstanding debt on approximately 200 live accounts, monthly invoices of c180, from low value up to £500,000 per customer.
- Liaison with the Sales Account Managers regarding overdue/disputed accounts
- Reviewing debt issues on a weekly basis with escalation to Account Managers and Directors as appropriate
- Dealing with accounts that have gone into liquidation including liaising with administrators
- Assessment the credit worthiness of potential and existing customers including determining credit limits and payment terms
- Creating new client accounts and setting up onto the system
- Banking and cash allocation onto system when required
- Maintaining credit card receipts - reconciliation and allocation.
- Responsible for 7 day and final notice letters before action.
- Dealing with billing escalations
- Issuing credit and debit Journals when required
- Weekly cash flow reporting
- Assisting the external Accountants with year end and statutory reporting and filing of accounts

Remuneration
Salary: £30 - 34,000
Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm ½ hour lunch.
