Finance Manager

Based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire we are working exclusively with an exciting growing company who are seeking a Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

This job would suit an experienced all-round accountant to be responsible for the finances for this business that has seen significant recent growth and is bringing their finances in-house for the first time.

The company are highly successful in their niche market and offer specialist services in a highly topical field that anyone would be interested in being part of. They are a multi-award winning business that is currently in talks to raise funding to fast forward their growth plans. For an ambitious Finance Manager looking for an opportunity where they can set up the finance function as they wish and be part of an exciting growth story, this is the perfect job.

The successful individual will have good all round accounting experience looking after management accounts as well as technical financial accounting skills but also be willing to be hands on with the bookkeeping. This person must have energy, drive and the obvious ambition to help the business move forward acting as a key person in this process. The ability to use Excel to a good level is also important and there is no specific level of accounting qualification needed for this position - qualified by experience people will be considered. The individual should have good communication skills and be adept at working with and managing key internal stakeholders.

Job responsibilities:

Responsible for bringing the accounts in-house and setting up all processes and proceduresMaintain purchase ledgerMonth end procedures: close purchase ledger & sales ledger, bank reconciliationProduce Monthly management accountJournal Adjustments: Accrual, PrepaymentsReview any estimate adjustment to management accountsReconcile Balance sheetPrepare cost review with commentary and propose improvements and area of concernMaintain and manage sales ledger and Credit control: support the team with daily activities as required or necessary, review debtor report with credit controller for any concernsYearend procedures: liaison with auditor, run year endVAT- Submit EC sales monthly and VAT Quarterly PAYE Payment and reconciliation, P11D's
