My client is a Kent based Multi Academy Trust and due to the departure of a long standing member of staff, are looking to recruit the Trusts new Head of Finance.
You will be part of the Executive Team in supporting the CEO in the development and effective delivery of financial processes and systems across the Trust. You will be responsible for the Strategic Management of Finance across the Trust, to ensure that the Trust and the individual academies within the Trust, operate good financial governance and are compliant with the requirements of the Academy Trust Handbook, the Trust’s own financial regulations, policy and procedures and/or other statutory and regulatory requirements.
You’ll act as a true value-add Business Partner to the School Senior Leadership team in order that decisions are made on the basis of sound financial information. The role will involve the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and full business and budget planning to prepare the Academy’s budget plan. You’ll be responsible for monitoring, control and forecasting of income and expenditure ensuring that restricted or ring-fenced funds are managed appropriately, in conjunction with the support and mentoring of a small finance team. You’ll additional oversee procurement and HR departments, ensuring that there is synergy across all professional departments to deliver best value for money for the Trust.
Applications are sought from fully qualified accountants, with Education sector experience not a pre-requisite for this role. Public sector or commercial world experience - especially where there has been a real focus on value for money and service levels would certainly be appropriate.
The Trust has plans to grow over the coming years and is well backed and financed to do so. This appointment would have a significant bearing on the future direction of the Trust.
Farrer Barnes Ltd does not discriminate on the grounds of age, race, gender, disability, creed or sexual orientation and complies with all relevant UK legislation. Farrer Barnes Ltd acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
