We are seeking a qualified Senior Management Accountant to join an exciting high profile Energy business based in Reading. Reporting to the Divisional Senior Finance Manager, you'll provide accurate & timely delivery of financial performance reports and monthly management accounts, take an active role in budgeting and forecasting activities and provide financial expertise to support business decision-making.

We are seeking a qualified Senior Management Accountant to join an exciting high profile Energy business based in Reading. Reporting to the Divisional Senior Finance Manager, you'll provide accurate & timely delivery of financial performance reports and monthly management accounts, take an active role in budgeting and forecasting activities and provide financial expertise to support business decision-making.
Description
You will support the Group Financial Controller in providing accurate and timely financial information, supporting month-end activities and delivering business-critical reporting information to senior management and the wider Finance community in line with business requirements.
Key tasks will include:
- Preparation of month end reports applying knowledge of financial and management accounting
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts of multiple entities with variance analysis
- Production of periodic forecasting and budgeting submissions
- BS account reconciliations using judgement to highlight and investigate key and unexpected variances providing supporting commentary when required
- Supporting the Group Divisional Senior Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects
- Identify and action process improvement initiatives and opportunities.
Profile
Candidate Criteria:
- Qualified with a professional accounting body (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
- Strong communication and business-partnering skills
- Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures
- Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly Excel)
- ERP software experience (e. SAP, HFM, Oracle or similar) would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently, target focused and result driven, strong ability to bring about change, energetic and driven taking a hands-on approach and develops an atmosphere of confidence, respect, and trust, acts as a role model within the team, strong service and customer orientation.
