RattrayParkin is currently supporting the requirements of a private equity backed service provider which is seeking to recruit a high-calibre Chief Financial Officer to take a key position on its executive board.
Based at the business's East Midlands head office the CFO will be responsible for the provision of leadership, oversight and direction to a the finance function, whist supporting the CEO in optimising the financial performance, strategic development and sound commercial decision making.
Responsibilities
- Work closely and productively with the senior management and private equity owners.
- Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business.
- Development of reporting systems, ensuring they are robust, compliant and will support current activities and future growth.
- Establish a high level of credibility with shareholders and ensure strong working relationships with external stakeholders including funders and bankers.
- Provide strategic financial analysis to the CEO and development of key KPI's.
- Oversee the legal/contracting process, engaging external assistance as required. This will involve significant input into pricing and contract negotiations with customers and suppliers.
- In due course, guide the company through the financial aspects of a sale process, including involvement in the preparation of sale materials and data room, presentations to potential buyers, review of legal documents and all other aspects of the process.
Required Skills:
- Qualified accountant with strong technical skills.
- Previous experience of working within high-growth PE backed businesses.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Energetic, hands-on team player, comfortable in an SME business environment, probably having taken responsibility for business functions such as Operations, legal and HR.
- Commercially astute, technically strong leader with the ability to operate at both operational and strategic levels.
- Previous experience of M&A.
- Previous experience of managing a bank facility and the associated reporting.
- Strong IT skills.
