Financial Reporting Accountant

Derbyshire

RattrayParkin are currently supporting the recruitment requirements of well positioned and ambitious business in Derbyshire which is seeking to recruit a high calibre Financial Reporting Accountant. The successful applicant will take ownership of the provision of accurate, timely and effective financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified accountant preferably with first hand experience of big 4 accounting firms able to work effectively within a dynamic environment and assist in driving a continuous improvement culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate the monthly management accounts to the review stage, including all balance sheet reconciliations; providing a commentary to support the submission
  • Prepare the Board pack including all appendices with a commentary highlighting the salient features/trends/variances to expectations
  • Assist with governance by ensuring all actions are agreed and closed out in an agreeable timeline
  • Document and share relevant KPIs to stakeholders
  • Attend relevant internal meetings to ensure operational KPI'ss are being achieved and where necessary identify the effect of any variance
  • Oversee the group-wide financial reporting function and ensure that appropriate systems, processes and controls are in place to deliver accurate and reliable information at the right time for key stakeholders (on a divisional and group basis)
  • Manage the company cash flow forecast to ensure that weekly cash flow requirements are met, along with minimising currency risks and exchange losses
  • Report on overdue debtors and ensure actions are closed out in a timely fashion
  • Drive to streamline any reporting where possible
  • Evaluate the efficiency of financial controls and improve them continuously
  • Prepare annual audit file & liaise with audit team to ensure efficient, cost effective annual audit
  • Draft annual statutory accounts and liaise with auditors
  • Ensure all actions raised by the auditors are closed out

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA with at least 5 years’ relevant experience in finance.
  • Thorough understanding of auditing process
  • First hand experience of Big 4 Accounting firms (preferable)
  • Experience of improving internal governance
  • Previous experience of preparing management information
