With a well thought out growth agenda and a proven track record in the sector, my North Yorkshire based client is looking for a professionally qualified Financial Controller. Within this role you'll play an integral part in the finances, managing a team, reporting straight to the Finance Director and delivering detailed financial analysis (P&L, forecasting, daily banking, payroll, invoicing, purchasing/cost reductions, reviewing existing contracts, budgeting).

The ideal Financial Controller will come from a similar background. You must be able to deliver to tight deadlines, commercial awareness and provide strong leadership with the ability to challenge and influence.

Duties include:

  • Monthly reporting – budgeting, forecasting etc
  • Implementing variance analysis processes to identify discrepancies with analysis and reporting
  • Identifying and agreeing internal benchmarks and undertake trend analysis of financial performance
  • Managing year end and interim audits with external auditors
  • To undertake any ad hoc finance work as necessary
  • Documentation of and continuous process improvement of all department processes
  • Active provision of financial and accounting information to the Finance Director
  • Maintaining good housekeeping practices in all areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for the finance team
  • Any other reasonable duties as required

Group Financial Controller requirements:

  • Experienced in a Finance Manager or Head of Finance or Financial Controller role
  • Strong technical accounting experience (forecasting, budgeting etc)
  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified
  • Excellent man management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, driven, & used to working on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Commercially focused
