Our retained client is a UK leading, multi-site, manufacturing group which is renowned in the market for providing superior quality products and utilising cutting edge technology. Operating on a global stage, this highly profitable privately owned business has become widely recognised as the supplier of choice within the medical, retail and commercial industries. It combines in-house manufacturing expertise and sourcing of top-quality materials to guarantee high quality products to its customers.

The Group has evidenced a history of sustained growth year on year and now seeks to appoint a Group Finance Director to play a significant role in shaping and executing the future growth strategy of the business.

Operating as the ‘right hand’ to the CEO, the successful candidate will embed themselves as a key member of the Board, business partnering with all divisional Managing Director’s and taking ownership of wider strategic functions including IT.

Broader responsibilities will include:

  • Operating as a key member of the Board, acting as the right hand to the CEO and trusted advisor to the Executive Chairman
  • Playing a key role in the Group’s future M&A activity including robust due diligence, financial modelling and overseeing the post integration process.  
  • Management and development of the entire finance function, ensuring the structure is fit for purpose to support a growth-oriented group of businesses.
  • Delivering insightful Management Information that will enhance operational and commercial decision making.
  • Ensuring robust financial controls are at the heart of the business, ensuring the continuation of strong cash flow performance.
  • Managing external relationships including banks, auditors, tax advisors and other professional services
  • Management of the annual budgeting process and regular forecasts.
  • Leading and managing the Group’s approach to digital/new technologies, taking responsibility for the technology function with a continuous review of the current IT infrastructure to ensure it meets the demands of the business both currently and in the future. 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of driving profitable growth within a manufacturing environment, and a strong academic achievement and an ACA or ACCA qualification. You must demonstrate strong communication skills, able to develop excellent working relationships across an entire business, coupled with the attributes suited to operating within a privately owned Group.
