Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently working with a leading manufacturing firm based in the Halifax area, as they look to appoint an experienced & motivated Purchase Ledger Manager in to their friendly team, on a full time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will have experience of leading and managing a busy purchase ledger team (ideally within a manufacturing environment) and taking on the full responsibility of the end to end accounts payable process. They will also be a confident communicator, with the ability to liaise with and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the duties of the Purchase Ledger Manager will include:

* Manage, develop and motivate a team of 2 people
* Improve the current processes to ensure that they are robust, efficient and that suppliers are paid on time
* Create a strong control environment that ensures all ledgers are kept up to date and any overdue or credit balances are dealt with quickly
* Establish, monitor and improve KPIs to demonstrate that Accounts Payable is being successfully run
* Liaise with other stakeholders in the business to ensure a seamless process for accounts payable
* Prepare payments runs
* Prepare VAT and CIS returns
* Some transactional processing of purchase invoices and bank journals
* Ad hoc tasks as required

Person Specification:

* Previous management of accounts payable function
* Experience working with NetSuite would be advantageous
* Effective communicator with an ability to liaise with all stakeholders in the business
* Willingness to be hands on an spend part of the time transactional processing
* Works collaboratively as part of a team
* Willingness to try new things - innovative & pioneering approach
* Driven, to get the job done
