Financial Controller
Runcorn - Hybrid Working
£50,000 - £60,000
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Financial Controller to join a rapidly expanding SME business in the Runcorn area.
Reporting directly into the CFO, this growing business is looking for a qualified accountant who is looking for their next move into an FC position and is seeking a challenging role where they can add-value to the company.
You will be managing a small team as well as handling the financial reporting and day-to-day running of our Finance department and will be contributing to the success of the organisation.
You will be required to undertake all aspects of financial management, including accounting functions and operations, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.
This business is looking for someone with a dynamic, versatile and passionate personality and someone who is able to make their own mark very quickly in the business.
As Financial Controller your role will be:
- Manage all finance and accounting operations and the day to day running of the finance department
- Prepare and publish timely weekly and monthly financial information and KPIs
- Improving current financial processes and systems and identifying areas of improvement
- Business Partnering with the commercial and operational team in the business
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets and regular forecasts
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply our financial reporting with GAAP
- Project work; review current financial and management reporting and identify opportunities for improvement
- Create weekly, monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends and financial forecasts
- Develop and manage a daily P&L to give forward visibility of performance.
- Manage the day-to-day cash flow of the business and regular cash reporting to the board
- Manage the day-to-day tasks for the assistant management accountant.
- Develop budgets and forecast models to be able to do sensitivity analysis and also to generate scenarios
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, checked and reported effectively
To apply for the job you must:
- Be a qualified accountant with at least 3-5 years PQE experience
- Have experience of working within a growing SME
- Have a strong commercial and operational acumen
- Be ambitious, someone who wants to grow with the business.
