Resourcery Group are looking for a Group Internal Auditor for a brilliant, high growth and well established business based in Liverpool. Our client is a market leader in their sector and has an excellent reputation. This role will be based in the Liverpool office which currently operates under a hybrid working model. The Liverpool office is modern and has excellent transport links to the North West Region. 

The Group Internal Auditor will assist the Group Head of Audit to deliver high quality, value adding audit services to Senior Management and Board of Directors. This assurance will be provided in relation to key areas including corporate governance, risk management and internal control over business and operational risks, to support the business deliver an ambitious growth strategy.

Group Internal Auditor - Responsibilities

·        The post holder will be required to devise and develop a suitable assessment methodology, working with Group Operations, to ensure that all regulatory requirements are monitored.
·        Working with the Group Head of Audit to develop and agree a risk based internal audit plan covering global operations and office facilities on a cyclical basis.
·        Lead the scoping of specific process audits or regional operational audits following detailed risk assessments.
·        Undertaking audit fieldwork based on pre-agreed audit scope, that may include compliance assessment against regulatory controls
·        Assess Head Office and regional internal controls to judge whether they are sufficient and adequately robust to manage and mitigate operational, financial and regulatory risks.
·        Document findings and work with various stakeholders, including senior management, to agree recommendations and implementation plans to address any internal control deficiencies.
·        Review and opine on the effective closure of audit actions by the business, including presentation of any overdue actions at the Regional Risk and Governance Committees.
·        Adhere to industry good practice, including acting as a subject matter expert on risk and internal control for the wider business.

Benchmarking

·        Undertake periodic benchmarking exercises throughout the group and make recommendations for group best practice implementation – where appropriate and efficient to do so.
·        Keep abreast of industry developments and best practice initiatives and work with relevant functional and regional management to make any appropriate recommendations for internal development.

Group Risk Register

·        Work with the Group Head of Audit and functional / regional management to continually develop and maintain the Group Risk Register and feed this into the annual audit planning process.
·        Provide input into the Risk Register process through facilitation of risk register reviews, engagements in audits, regular stakeholder meetings, and knowledge of wider industry-wide emerging risks and regulations

Ad-hoc Projects

·        Where required undertake, or support, investigative analysis into any incidents or issues across the Group preparing reports and recommendations for any required corrective actions. 
·        Work with the various stakeholders and managers on ad-hoc business improvement projects, such as new system implementations, mergers or acquisitions or process improvement.
·        Provide support to the Group Head of Enterprise Risk on data protection, including maintenance of the Group Data Register, changes to legislation and any ad-hoc data access requests.

Essential
Criteria

·        Three of more years’ experience of Internal Audit.
·        Proactive problem-solving skills.
·        Strong communicator with the ability to influence senior management.
·        Strong IT skills, including knowledge of MS Office.
·        Ability to focus on detail without neglecting the bigger picture.
