Partner Financial are currently retained by a leading consumer business based in West London. The business has grown significantly over the years and has developed a global footprint in the market due to their customer focus and strong product offering.

The company has a clear strategic agenda to achieve market excellence and will be delivering against this ambitious agenda by further investing in new capabilities and on improving customer experience.

This role will provide overview, board level insight and leadership for a controls and reporting team, who monitor and track compliance against all corporate governance and internal control requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ownership of the Group consolidation process and presentation of the quarterly and annual statutory reports and accounts to the Board;
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge including UK GAAP and IFRS knowledge (IFRS 9, 15 and 16 knowledge is highly desirable);
  • Provide technical advice to the business and give support on corporate initiatives such as acquisitions and disposals;
  • Manage the statutory and regulatory accounts and audit process and lead the implementation of new accounting standards;
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of effective internal controls in the business and monitor their quality and efficiency;
  • Develop best practices, continually reviewing the processes and procedures to maximise impact and efficiency;
  • Develop a good knowledge of the company as well as close relationships across the business;
  • Act as the key point of contact for the auditors;
  • Manage the workload and provide coaching to members of the team.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

The successful candidate will hold an accounting qualification and possess a strong technical grounding in finance and accounting.  Robust analytical skills, proven experience in technical accounting, reporting and consolidation as well as strong team management capabilities will be key in this role.

This position will require strong influencing skills, the ability to drive key decisions through to fruitful conclusions and will suit a highly analytical mind. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the capacity to simplify complex technical information and demonstrable leadership skills are essential.
