This successful recycling business is part of a diverse, privately owned group operating across the UK. With a long-standing and stable customer base they have enjoyed continued success which will see their UK turnover reach £6m this year with net profits in excess of 20%. Following investment in new facilities they are now able to secure higher value, long term work and as part of this growth they are now seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to oversee the finances for the site and report into the Finance Director at group head office. This is a new role overseeing an established Accounts Manager and team, the successful candidate must have a flexible approach to cope with the varied duties associated with a hands on role and must be comfortable working closely with a General Manager and with minimal supervision. Key duties for this role will include

  • Producing the month management accounts for three divisions
  • Preparation of the group reporting pack
  • Budgeting, planning and variance analysis
  • Sales and margin / pricing analysis
  • Investment appraisal and supporting tenders
  • Payroll and HMRC matters
  • Preparation of the annual statutory accounts
  • Managing the external audit
  • Point of contact for insurances and company secretarial matters
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers

This will be a rewarding role for someone looking for variety and to be part of a small team in a stable business environment. As a business they are still relatively young and having grown quickly much of their systems and processes require some modernisation, someone who can automate and develop MI reports pulling information together from different software would therefore be very useful. The ideal candidate would preferably be CIMA / ACCA qualified although QBE applicants who can demonstrate good experience will be considered.
