Halliday Marx have partnered exclusively with a world leading Financial Services company to recruit a new Tax Accountant.
The Role:
Involved in assisting in all aspects of tax as well as assisting in the smooth-running of other finance operations. Initially the role itself will not be solely focused on tax but will be more of a hybrid role that also offers exposure to desk commission calculations, broker reconciliations, payroll and driving forward efficiencies within the Finance department.
Key responsibilities will include:
Taking the lead in Group R&D calculations, including working alongside our outsourced R&D provider to ensure timely delivery of calculations & technical reports, as well as ensuring the Group is well informed on changes to R&D regimes.
Ensure the timely and accurate calculation and delivery of VAT returns, Withholding tax returns, FATCA and CRS reporting
Assisting with the set-up and implementation of Group Transfer Pricing policies
Providing support to the team in technical tax matters (e. tax implications of new branches/ subsidiaries, employee related tax issues etc).
Assisting all Group entities with tax matters.
Drive efficiencies within Finance to improve/ automate finance tasks.
Calculate monthly commissions for sales.
Work with outsourced payroll to calculate monthly payroll.
Reconcile broker postings and margin payments.
Get involved with the Group's Transfer Pricing
Other ad-hoc tasks as and when required by Senior Management.
You should:
Have a degree (2 or 1st) ideally in Maths/ Economics/ Accounting/ Finance/ similar.
Be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years PQE.
Be currently working as an Accountant or similar, in a tax role within financial services.
Have a proven track record of driving efficiencies.
Understand or have had experience of Transfer Pricing
Have excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues from all areas of the business.
Have a desire to learn and develop an understanding in the financial services industry
