Outstanding and extremely rare career opportunity as Head of Finance/CFO designate with a rapidly growing, early stage professional services company, including personal wealth creation Equity major incentive for a high calibre top potential qualified accountant, likely up to 10 years PQE.

My exclusive client, based in central Manchester, is a modern Law firm, established just 2 years ago by two leading high profile Legal professionals. The firm's unique business model, embracing a key focus on the highest standards of client service delivery, has already been recognised by winning a slew of business awards. The Partners have a clear and exciting business strategy to further accelerate their tremendous growth achieved since start up, with plans to seek an exit within a likely time-frame of the next c 5-10 years which is expected to secure significant 7-figure shareholder value.

This is a brilliant opportunity to get on board in this key role at this still early stage of their "journey" - reporting directly and working v closely with the 2 Partners/Co-founders from Day 1, you will join as Head of Finance of a small, fast growing hands-on team with the planned expectation of growing the scope and level/influence of the role; this will coincide with being promoted to CFO to join the Board after a qualifying 12 month successful period at which point you will also be awarded with Equity participation.

The brief:

  • Bring in-house and establish efficient and timely financial processes and controls and develop the professional business infrastructure to scale the business at each step in its growth and development to support and facilitate the exciting growth strategy.
  • Develop robust monthly management accounts with insightful commentary and performance analysis.
  • Develop bottom up annual budgets and regular forecast projections.
  • Develop KPI's to provide clarity and focus on key business performance indicators.
  • Develop and own the key professional external relationships - Bank, Auditors, Tax, Advisors and Legal Regulatory bodies.
  • Work v closely day to day with the 2 Partners/Co-founders in providing proactive and astute advice and financial appraisal of a wide range of potential new business initiatives/opportunities.
  • Develop the scope and influence of this new role to become CFO and overall General Manager in control of managing the ongoing development of financial, operational and wider commercial systems and procedures to ensure slick efficiency combined with robust and consistent professional delivery across all business operations.
  • Overall, to play a pivotal role to ensure the business is capable of achieving its exciting growth strategy and taking the professional lead in managing the eventual high value exit options.

The Person:

  • High quality, high potential qualified accountant with the ability and personal confidence, integrity and gravitas to add real value and naturally "fit" in this highly professional environment.
  • Possess the energy, drive and ambition to "make things happen" and thrive off the pace of playing a leading role in an extremely fast moving, rapid growth SME.
  • Enjoy challenge and pushing the boundaries.
  • Embrace and lead the culture of putting people and clients at the heart of the business.
  • Previous proven experience of successfully operating in a profitable growth oriented business would certainly be an advantage; however my client is sector agnostic and the "right" person in terms of personality and relevant personal attributes will certainly be their key consideration.

In return, my client offers a starting salary between £70k - £80k ; whilst designed to be competitive in order to attract a high calibre professional, my client has the v clear view that the "right" person will "get" and be excited by the greater opportunity for real longer term Equity shareholder value.
