Property Client Accountant - Commercial - OUR CLIENT are an established property expert offering complete property management services to various commercial and residential landlords/developers. They ensure all of their clients' assets consisting professionally and expertly managed.

THE ROLE: They have now asked us to recruit a Portfolio/Property Accountant to join their experienced team, who will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of and the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records of a designated portfolio of properties. Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing year-end accounts, re-allocation of costs and have all-round experience forming, reviewing and preparation of variances.
  • preparing profit and loss and balance reports.
  • Monitoring cash flow and managing creditors.
  • Organising audit, post audit journals and respond to internal and external queries.
  • Distributing final accounts and ensuring statutory accounts are filed with Companies House and Inland Revenue.
  • Managing surplus and deficit charges onto lessee accounts.
  • Responding to financial queries from external clients and lessees.
  • Preparing budget templates, including uploading onto the system.
  • Managing service charge demands and ad hoc costs to tenants as required.
  • Preparing management reports on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Preparing VAT returns if applicable.
  • Reviewing handover information from previous agents and set up new clients on system.
  • Accounting for or oversee Developer Set Up Funding.
  • Preparing and control void service charges.

THE PERSON: The successful candidate will ideally be fully or partly qualified - CIMA / ACCA / AAT but could also be QBE - qualified by experience. You will have experience within the property industry and ideally have advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of commercial/ property accounting systems. You will show stability and have worked through a full life annual cycle of property / service charge accounting. You will also possess strong attention to detail and quality standards, good level of written and verbal communication and good analysis and problem solving skills. Exposure to property management systems - PropMan, QUBE etc. would be highly beneficial.

This role allows you to work from home on a full time basis.
